Impermanence

Concept/
Traditional cultures, in any aspect, are gradually transformed with time. For instance, the culture of burning paper money for the dead is little by little vanished owing to eco-awareness. Besides, modern lanterns are made of recyclable materials like cotton cloth. What is more, worship could even be accomplished on internet. Human beliefs still exist; however, they’ve been transformed on purpose to keep and pass on the cultures. Thus, in my opinion, those intented changes could be intetpreted by “gaurding belief” which will be utilized in this play.

Introduction/
Waking up in shabby ruins, the leading role—Wu Chang(meaning impermanence) recalled his own memories and belief by means of recognizing this surrounding scenes. After finding out that the ruins were going to be devoured by time, he attempted to escape. In this play, Wu Chang guarded his own belief and pass on the temple to a whole new generation until he found the symbolic temple falling between the ruins and the new city.
